Granite is a widely occurring type of igneous rock. The word granite comes from the Latin granum, a grain, in reference to the coarse-grained structure of the stone.
The colour of granite depends on the chemistry and mineralogy. You will see a wide divergence of colourings in our superb selection of granite and marble worktops. There is a granite to suit every kitchen wood or paint colour and, more importantly, every taste.
Granite is tough and durable, and therefore has gained widespread use as a kitchen worktop. Marble is porous and, as such, not as well suited to kitchen surfaces.
As a natural material granite will often have slight colour and grain variations from the images in this gallery.
We can arrange for you to choose the exact block of stone to be used for your worktop if you like!
